9 Examples of Business Activities that Can Cause Biodiversity Loss

Assessing the impacts of the business on nature and biodiversity can be complex, and a new area for many organisations. With the extensive supply chains and limited of transparency of the relationship between business activities and the nature we are seeing, it may be challenging to make these connections.

At the same time, requirements to assess the impact on biodiversity and nature are emerging for many corporates with reporting frameworks such as CSRD and TNFD coming up.

In this blog we wanted to help you to start making some of these connections and demonstrate what impacts certain types of business activities may have on nature.

If your recognise any of these activities in your business value chain, it is time to start taking action - getting more visibility and transparency of the extent of these impacts, reducing the activity that causes them and taking actions to restore the habitats and biodiversity affected.
